FAQS
As a platform making funding accessible to everyone, we follow SEC regulations that protect investors. Your yearly investment limit across all Title III (Regulation Crowdfunding) offerings - including those on Main Street Bond and other platforms - depends on your financial situation:
If your annual income or net worth is under $124,000:
You can invest the greater of $2,200 or 5% of whichever is higher - your annual income or net worth
If both your annual income and net worth are $124,000 or more:
You can invest the lesser of $124,000 or 10% of whichever is higher - your annual income or net worth
These limits apply to non-accredited investors and cover your total investments across all Regulation Crowdfunding offerings over any 12-month period.
Creating an account and browsing investment opportunities on Main Street Bond is completely free. Fees would only apply when making an investment.
Possible fees when investing include:
A processing fee of 2.85% (never more than $37.25) may be added to your investment amount if the business chooses to pass this cost to investors. If you pay by credit card, additional convenience fees may apply. You'll always see the exact fees clearly displayed before you complete your investment.
Your investment funds are held securely by an independent financial institution until the offering is successfully completed. We'll notify you by email once the process is complete.
Yes! We believe in giving investors flexibility and control over their investment decisions. Here's how cancellation works:
You can cancel your investment for any reason up to 48 hours before an offering deadline. If something important changes in the offering after you've invested, we'll notify you right away. In that case, your investment will be automatically cancelled unless you confirm you still want to proceed within 5 business days.
When you invest, your funds are safely held by a qualified third-party financial institution until the offering is completed. If you cancel or if the offering doesn't reach its goal, your money will be returned to you.
